METAVERSE, BLOCKCHAIN & GAMING: 5 TIPS FOR A GOOD ENTRY INTO THE ECOSYSTEM

The Founders & CEOs of Blueteamwib and Esports Bureau, Herman Rojas and Rafael Espinosa, respectively, presented last Wednesday, April 19, the first chapter of Digital Corporate Authority, DCA. It is the first platform dedicated to organizations, brands and governments in their entry into the universe of esports and new technologies. The brand new project featured Jorge Schnura, President and Co-Founder of the renowned Spanish eSports team, MAD Lions, as the first guest.
“If you are in the marketing or advertising business, taking technology as an ally to lead a market and grow the business is a survival factor. DCA gives you access to ideas, strategies, techniques and cost efficient solutions that are simple and easy to implement that will complement your strategies”, explained Herman Rojas, Founder & CEO of BlueteamWib.
“The new digital environment, the new data generated, the possibilities and the new business and entertainment models that are opening up before us are immense, but at the same time so large and with such fast changes that many entities are not ready for the change yet. That is the gap that D.C.A. wants to cover, helping different types of entities to understand this new reality and how to monetize it, specially”, emphasized Rafael Espinosa de los Monteros Iglesias, CEO & Founder of Esports Bureau.
1. SLOWLY BUT SURE: JOIN THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION
Enter little by little, do things but keep trying, see what works with an open mind. You should not think “if it does not work, this is no longer for me”. Instead of it, think that maybe “that way of entering” has not worked for you. Thus, you will earn a good will from your audience because they will identify it as an honest path.
2. THE IMPORTANCE OF COUNTING ON PARTNERS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT
Find a partner that works as an advisor when it comes to doing your activations with the metaverse, NFTs, or whatever. We, the guys from marketing, know our fans, we know what they want and how to add value to them, while they help us open our eyes to the possibilities of what it can be done, so their role is absolutely fundamental as long as it is active and not passive.
3. FROM HYPE TO THE ACTION: TRANSFORM THE PHENOMENON INTO SOMETHING MAINSTREAM
Critical mass is important. I think that something that happens many times is that the hype exceeds the work. The mainstream version of these digital environments will come with the new generations that have grown up with these technologies, like the children who spend a whole day in the Fortnite metaverse.
4. METAVERSE = COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT 2.0
Instead of managing my community through a Twitter account or organizing meet & greets with players on a digital channel like Discord, we can now think of fun metaverse activities that you can’t do in the physical world. Here you are not seeing the real player but the avatar, which often represents the person more than his own physical form, since there he can wear a shirt with a shield with which he feels more represented. This type of closer community management, which is only possible in the digital field, is essential.
5. TOWARDS THE TOKENIZATION OF THE TRADITIONAL STRUCTURES
I think we will see more often that there are clubs that will always going to stick with the traditional business and others that want their fans to have a percentage of their club, like Real Madrid, which is owned by their members. On the one hand, we will see the tokenization of these titles and, above all, a lot of activity in digital environments such as the metaverse, where a large part of the community management will take place in such environments.
There are many things that we cannot even imagine today. When the Internet was invented, no one would have thought that it would lead to the invention of smartphones. The same is going to happen with the blockchain, where surely many of its applications cannot even come to mind today.
In the end, what I believe here is that esports are digital natives for a digital native audience and everything that is blockchain, crypto, etc., is ownership of assets that are digital natives. There is a very clear fit there at a conceptual level, so what we have to do now is find out what are those use cases that provide real value to the market.
